OLIVER TWP. – A 24-year-old Knox man had to be taken to a Pittsburgh hospital by Life Flight following a single car crash in Jefferson County.

State Police say Ashton Sullinger was driving too fast on Route 36 in Oliver Township Saturday, and he lost control of his vehicle.

Troopers report that the car swerved off of the roadway and crashed into a ditch.

Emergency crews had to mechanically extricate Sullinger from the car because of the depth of the ditch.

The severity of Sullinger’s leg injuries is unknown.

Police say Sullinger has been charged with a traffic violation.
