Ridgway, PA – A woman in Elk County says she paid more than $1,000 for a dog online but never received the animal.
The 47-year-old Kersey woman transferred $1,030 to someone through a cash app on Aug. 13.
She thought she would get a dog in exchange for the money, but the dog was never delivered.
It’s being investigated as a case of theft by deception.
If you’re buying anything online, make sure it’s through a reputable source.
As a side note, there are plenty of shelter pets who are waiting for a home, at a much smaller cost than a thousand dollar. If you do choose to buy a pet instead of adopt, make sure you’re doing so through a responsible breeder.
