
West Mifflin, PA – Theme parks throughout Pennsylvania will start to reopen in July, including Kennywood, Idlewild, Sandcastle, and Lakemont Park!
For Kennywood, Sandcastle, and Idlewild, they’ll invite friends and family members of park employees to start coming into the park on July 6. Season passholders can get a preview of the parks reopening on July 7-10. July 11 will be the opening day for anyone else for those parks.
Social distancing, limited numbers of people in the parks, temperature checks, and masks are all part of the reopening plan.
Lakemont Park is Altoona is having a phased reopening, starting with their batting cages, mini-golf, go-karts and Lakeside Cafe, all opening June 13. The Lakemont Treehouse Water Park will be closed for the season.
Waldameer Park & Water World in Erie remains closed for the time being, with no exact date for when they will reopen.
DelGrosso’s Amusement Park and Laguna Splash in Tipton have decided to close for the entire season.
For anyone who usually travels south for their vacations, Florida’s Disney World will also begin to reopen in July. Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom will reopen on July 11, with Epcot and Hollywood Studios reopening on July 15.
Universal Studios in Orlando has already begun a a cautious reopening, which started on June 5.
