CLEARFIELD – A Clearfield County jury took over four hours to find a 41-year-old man guilty of providing the drugs that killed a woman.
Trevor Bloom of West Decatur was convicted Wednesday of a felony charge of drug delivery resulting in the death of 36-year-old Lindsey LaBorde. He was acquitted of an involuntary manslaughter charge.
Two years ago, LaBorde was found unresponsive at a Clearfield residence. She was pronounced dead a short time later at Penn Highlands Clearfield. Bloom told police that LaBorde had tried heroin for the first time, but drug residue at the scene tested positive as fentanyl.
In an interview with investigators, Bloom allegedly said that he is the only one to blame for LaBorde’s death.
Bloom’s sentencing will be scheduled within 90 days, and he could receive a minimum of five and a-half years to a maximum of 40 years in state prison.
