Jefferson County woman accused of stealing over $17,000 worth of jewelry

SHIPPENVILLE – A Jefferson County woman is facing a felony theft charge for allegedly taking more than $17,000 worth of jewelry from a former friend.

According to State Police and court documents, 37-year-old Brandy Taylor of Corsica is accused of stealing 36 pieces of jewelry from a Shippenville woman who allowed her to live in her house.

The victim reported the theft to the police just one day after she asked Taylor to leave her home, and she discovered that the jewelry and several purses were gone.

A preliminary hearing for Taylor has not yet been scheduled.
