PUNXSUTAWNEY – Punxsutawney State Police are warning you about a recent scam in the area.
Police say that victims will receive a phone call from someone posing as a bank company representative. They will then direct you to pay a bill using gift cards, money orders, or buying items and sending it to an address.
Police say to never give any information over the phone including giving money. They also say if you get one of these scam calls to contact the police and your local banking office.
