HomeCrimeJefferson County man faces charges for a possible attempted mass shootingJefferson County man faces charges for a possible attempted mass shootingFri, July 29, 2022 by Louise BennettSHARE NOW Brookville – A Jefferson County man is facing charges of attempted murder following what police are calling a case of a possible attempted mass shooting and murder at a Brookville truck stop.30-year-old Christopher Strimple of Punxsutawney is awaiting a preliminary hearing on the charges.Police say Strimple was communicating with the Jefferson-Clearfield Crisis Center from the parking lot of the Flying J Truck Stop on Wednesday, July 20th, when he said he had two guns in his car and “maybe” had thoughts of homicide.When Brookville Police arrived at the truck stop, Strimple threw his car key and told the officers that the guns were in the trunk.A pistol version AR-15, a Glock 9mm handgun, and 90 rounds of ammo were secured.Following his arrest, and during a mental health evaluation, Strimple reportedly told a hospital worker he was feeling homicidal toward “everyone, especially the people who have done me wrong,” he said.
