PUNXSUTAWNEY – A 45-year-old Jefferson County man is facing assault and harassment charges after he allegedly injured his girlfriend as they scuffled over control of a phone.
State Police say that Steven Weaver of Punxsutawney started breaking items inside a Perry Township residence and the victim was recording his actions on her phone.
Weaver reportedly tried to take the phone from his girlfriend in order to delete the recordings, and the argument became physical.
Police say the victim had visible injuries on both arms, and she claimed to have ended up on the ground as a result of her scuffle with Weaver.
A preliminary hearing in Jefferson County Magisterial Court is set for Tuesday morning.
