Corsica, PA – One Jefferson County man is dead and his roommate is behind bars after a fatal shooting during an argument Sunday morning.
The Pennsylvania State Police in collaboration with Jefferson County District Attorney Jeffrey Burkett’s Office have arrested 65-year-old William Joseph Sivak, Jr. from Corsica in connection with the shooting death of 60-year-old Amos Leroy Smail, his roommate.
It was around 8:30 a.m. Sunday when troopers at the State Police Barracks in Punxsutawney were alerted of the shooting in Union Township.
Investigation revealed that Sivak shot and killed his roommate, Smail, at their home following an argument.
Troopers don’t say what the argument was about.
Sivak was taken into custody on criminal homicide charges and remains in the Jefferson County Jail, awaiting his formal arraignment.
Police do not give any other details at the moment.
