JEFFERSON COUNTY – An inmate at the Jefferson County Jail is facing charges after allegedly assaulting two correction officers and a nurse.
According to police, 20 year-old Steven McGovern was given medications by a corrections officer and a nurse where he allegedly threw the placate at them before getting more violent.
According to the report he smashed a cart into the pair and threw multiple punches before they restrained him with the help of a second officer.
He is now facing multiple charges related to the assault.
