BROCKWAY – The Guardian Elder Healthcare company headquartered in Brockway has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, hoping to restore financial stability.
Company officials say the filing is due to inflation, rising costs, and increased labor expenses over the past few years.
In this week’s announcement, Guardian Healthcare said all 19 of its skilled nursing facilities and related pharmacy and rehab businesses are included in the filing. According to Guardian officials, all of their healthcare facilities are operating as usual while their restructuring is pending.
It is also expected that Guardian will seek court approval for the sale of eight of the skilled nursing facilities it owns.
