JEFFERSON COUNTY – A Burn Ban has been issued for Jefferson County, in a hope to mitigate outdoor wildfires.
Due to the recent low humid, dry, and windy weather, a seemingly normal campfire has the potential to spread into an uncontrollable fire.
With several brush fires already taking place, the county has issued a Burn Ban until further notice.
The ban took into effect Sunday afternoon.
