JEFFERSON COUNTY – Jefferson County emergency crews were kept busy throughout the holiday weekend as powerful storms swept the area.
Between Friday evening and Monday morning, dispatchers say they handled just over 600 emergency calls.
On Friday night a microburst with winds topping 60 miles per hour hit the Punxsutawney area, followed by heavy rain and flash flooding on Sunday.
Crews responded to multiple downed trees, power lines, flooded roads, and other weather related emergencies among non weather related emergencies.
No injuries were reported due to the inclement power with around 375 people without power as of Monday morning.
