REYNOLDSVILLE – Students at Jeff Tech were given a big sendoff Tuesday as they head to Hershey this week for the SkillsUSA Pennsylvania State Leadership and Skills Conference.
Competing through Friday, students were prepared for multiple categories including welding, Quiz Bowl, video/audio production, culinary arts, and more.
Among those competing are Junior Anthony Hanes, who is returning in welding, and Senior Nicole Weible, who is back as a part of the Quiz Bowl team. Both say they are proud to represent the area on the statewide stage.
“Last year felt different, but this year it feels better,” explained Hanes. “I know what it means more and I have a better understanding of what it means to represent it.”
“I’m very excited that our little hick school will be shown as a smart group,” stated Weible.
The statewide event gives Jeff Tech students a chance to showcase their skills while representing both their school and the region.
