CLEARFIELD – After a lengthy hearing Wednesday, an injunction filed against the City of DuBois stays in effect, for now.

Last week, Clearfield County Judge Frederic Ammerman signed a temporary injunction that was filed by a group of DuBois residents to stop the buyout process of suspended DuBois City Manager Herm Suplizio.

Suplizio was charged by the state with over $600,000 in fraudulent transactions while manager.

City Solicitor Toni Cherry objected to the injunction and said there was no irreparable harm.

The plaintiffs say there is harm to the taxpayer and the well-being of the city.

At one point Judge Ammerman asked the defense why the city would not want to wait to pay out until Suplizio is found innocent or guilty. No clear answer was given.

The hearing was continued and another court date will be set.
