BROOKVILLE – Brookville is working on multiple projects to help rebrand, enhance tourism and quality of life in the Borough.
Currently there are multiple projects in the works including a kayak launch upgrade, talks about a Borough mascot, a tourism map, streetscape and safety enhancements on Main Street, public restrooms in the downtown, a new playground and amphitheater in Longview Park, expanding parking near the Redbank Valley Trails, and a large indoor sporting complex/community center to be built on a piece of property across the street from the High School purchased by the Borough.
According to Brookville Manager, Dana Rooney, all of these projects are in progress but will take time to come to fruition.
“There’s a lot of great ideas right now at the Borough,“ explained Rooney. “And we are working on the projects. Realistically it’s going to take anywhere from two to five years to see all of them through. Especially that indoor sports complex and community center, minimally five years before you see any groundwork broken.”
In the end, part of the reason for the delay is the Borough trying to be the most cost effective and the time it takes to get grant monies.
