I-80 Shut Down After Tractor Trailer Fire.

UNDATED – Traffic was backed up for miles on I-80 after a tractor trailer caught fire Thursday afternoon. 

At around 4:49pm, a tractor trailer erupted in flames in the eastbound lane in Union Township around the 105.8 mile marker.

Crews had the blaze under control by 05:13pm.

Due to the fire, the interstate was shut down at the 101 mile marker detouring traffic and causing a pileup that lasted multiple hours, spanning miles.

No injuries have been reported due to the blaze.
