UNDATED – On the last Monday in May, everyone is invited to mourn and honor military members.
As VFW Senior Vice Commander Daniel Kalgren says, you can help honor those that served by making sure their names are never forgotten.
“A person, they physically die, and they die the last time their name is ever said,“ explained Kalgren. “So when you walk through the cemetery and see these flags, so when you walk through the cemetery and see these flags, say their name. Because as long as their name is spoken, they will always be alive.”
In the end he says Memorial Day is a time to celebrate and remember all of those who have served in the United States armed forces.
