Jay Township, PA – Someone struck a fire hydrant and didn’t stop on Bennetts Valley Highway recently.
It happened near the intersection of Bennetts Valley Highway and Taylor Street in Jay Township, Elk County, around 8:15 a.m. Tuesday.
The unknown vehicle ran off the road and into the fire hydrant, dislodging the hydrant from the ground.
The vehicle then fled the scene of the accident, likely north on Route 255.
Police and the Jay Township Water Authority worked to clean up the scene.
