Jefferson County, PA – A Jefferson County man who had been found guilty of sexually abusing a child over the course of 4 years has now been sentenced to hundreds of years in prison.
According to Jefferson County District Attorney Jeff Burkett, 45-year-old Enos Hershberger, formerly of Henderson Township, was declared a sexually violent predator under Pennsylvania’s Megan’s Law and sentenced to 140 to 280 years in prison by Jefferson County Judge John Foradora.
In May of this year, Hershberger was found guilty of 169 charges stemming from the alleged sexual abuse of a child over four years. The charges included multiple counts of rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, incest, and other related charges.
“I am very pleased with this sentence,” stated Burkett. “Our victim had to endure years of awful sexual abuse at the hands of this man. She received no support from her family or her community throughout the process, but the power of truth overcame all of this. Justice was done and this man will not be able to do this ever again.”
