Henderson Township Residents still without clean water

STUMP CREEK — Residents of Henderson Township in Jefferson County are hoping that a $2 million grant will soon be used to provide them with clean water.

Those people, most of them in the Stump Creek area, were placed under another boil water notice on Christmas Day. The Henderson Township Supervisors and volunteers have been trying to resolve the ongoing problem, and have made a water tank available at the community building for those who have no water service.

According to the Chairman of the Board of Supervisors Harold Pifer, the $2 million grant will be used to replace the entire system, and the project should begin in the spring.
