Hearing for Clarion County woman accused of striking child

Clarion Co. –

There will be a preliminary hearing today for a Clarion County woman who is accused of repeatedly striking a young girl with a hanger and a belt.

Court documents indicate 41-year-old Amanda Eaton of Hawthorn is facing charges of endangering the welfare of children, simple assault and harassment.

Eaton is currently free on $5,000 bail.

Police began their investigation of Eaton after they were contacted by Clarion County Children and Youth Services regarding a young girl who arrived at Pinecreek Elementary School with visible bruises.
