Habitat for Humanity sale raises enough for entire house, sells out early

Clearfield, PA – The Clearfield County Habitat for Humanity group wants to say thank you to everyone who helped make their very first Shop for a Cause sale a huge success!

They believe they raised enough with this event alone to build or renovate another entire house!

Walmart Distribution donated ten large tractor-trailer loads of a wide variety of products to be sold, with all proceeds going towards building and renovating homes for families in our community.

The sale was such a success that all of the items were actually sold out within one day, even though it was planned to potentially last both Friday and Saturday.

Again, thank you to everyone who purchased or volunteered.

Listen to the thank you message from Anthony Caiola, executive director of Clearfield County Habitat for Humanity.

Want to know more about how Habitat for Humanity works?

Applicants are chosen based on whether the home being built would make sense for The family put in much more than the 500 required volunteer hours to build their house, called “sweat equity” hours, as part of the agreement for becoming the proud new homeowners.

It’s a common misconception that this is a free home for families… Habitat for Humanity calls it a hand up, not a hand out.

The family will still have a mortgage, although it’s interest-free, and the organization works to make sure it’s reasonable and affordable.
