Warsaw Township, PA – Four motorcyclists were injured, three of them seriously, after a crash Saturday afternoon in Jefferson County.

55-year-old Vaseem Chengazi from Pittsford, NY, had been riding his BMW R1200 motorcycle southbound on Richardson Road in Warsaw Township around 3:15 Saturday afternoon. He was going too fast for conditions on a downhill curve and lost control.

The side of his motorcycle struck the side of a Harley Davidson operated by 50-year-old Michael Booth from Bradfordwoods, PA. Booth’s motorcycle was pushed down a guide rail.

Meanwhile, the first motorcycle continued on to strike another Harley Davidson, operated by 57-year-old Rhonda Diercks from Gibsonia, PA, that was waiting to make a left turn.

The NY man who caused that accident had minor injuries to his leg and refused transport to a hospital.

Booth, the first person who was hit, and his passenger, 50-year-old Dawn Booth, were both seriously injured and had to be flown to UPMC Altoona.

Diercks, who was on the second motorcycle hit, had serious injuries to her lower body and was flown to Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.

All four motorcyclists had been wearing their helmets.
