SHARE NOW

CLEARFIELD – Four fiber-optic projects with a total price tag of $47-million have been approved and funded in Clearfield County.

The projects are intended to improve broadband access and high-speed internet availability throughout the county. The Clearfield County Commissioners announced on Thursday that the Pennsylvania Broadband Development Authority had approved the projects. The projects in Clearfield County will be performed by Verizon Pennsylvania. Verizon will absorb $25-million of the costs, and an additional $21.4-million is covered by grants which have already been awarded.

Work on the projects should start by late summer, and are required to be complete by the end of 2026.
