PUNXSUTAWNEY – A former Punxsutawney native is following her dreams of boxing seeing great success and possible Olympic status.
Trinity Burke grew up in Punxsutawney, and now in the Pittsburgh area. She has participated in a number of regional, world, and even olympic challenges in what she says is a dream come true.
“I used to watch it on tv and I thought it was cool,“ explained Burke. “So I started it one day, then when I got to Pittsburgh I started taking it really seriously.”
Currently the 23 year-old is headed off to Colorado Springs to train in the Olympic and Paralympic Training Center trying to earn a spot on the USA Boxing’s High Performance Team.
