Former DuBois area contractor faces up to 10 years in state prison

CLEARFIELD – A former DuBois area contractor will be serving up to 10 years in state prison after pleading guilty to home improvement fraud, theft, and criminal trespass charges this week.

According to Clearfield County Court documents, 58-year-old Joseph Sabatose of DuBois was accused not completing various home improvement projects at properties in Sandy Township, Bloom Township and Clearfield.

Sabatose was also alleged to have damaged a bathroom, made unauthorized purchases and charges on a customer’s credit card, and falsely reported his hours of work.

In addition to a two year-to-10 year prison sentence, Sabatose was also ordered by Judge Paul Cherry to pay more than $6,000 in restitution to the victims.
