Former Clearfield couple sentenced for animal cruelty and tampering with evidence

Clearfield – A former Clearfield couple was sentenced this week for cruelty to animals.

According to court documents, 23-year-old William Long and Kiara Gohn were charged with neglecting two dogs, a cat, and two rabbits in 2021.

One of the dogs was reportedly starved to death.

The couple, now residents of Sharpsburg, pleaded guilty in Clearfield County Court to felony aggravated cruelty to animals and misdemeanor counts of tampering with evidence and neglect of animals.

They will each serve six months to one year in jail and three years concurrent probation, and they were fined $500 plus costs.
