Fire Destroys Jefferson County House

PUNXSUTAWNEY – No one was hurt, but fire destroyed a Jefferson County house early Saturday morning.

The State Police Fire Marshal Unit is currently investigating the cause of the blaze that burned through a home located off of Route 36 in Bell Township near Punxsutawney.

Investigators say damages are estimated at $300,000, and a 29-year-old man and 30-year-old woman from Punxsutawney are the victims.

Firefighters say they know where the fire began in the house, but the exact cause remains under investigation.
