DUBOIS – The consolidation of DuBois and Sandy Township is less than a month away, as officials focus on wrapping up the final tasks needed before the new city takes effect on January 5th.
Interim Manager Ben Kafferlin told us that staff are still working through the last steps to ensure a smooth transition into the new city.
“The most important things that we’re working on as a staff at this point are making sure that all the kind of cleanup resolutions are ready for the next meeting,” explained Kafferlin.
Currently both municipalities are finalizing asset assignments so the new city can formally assume them, stressing accuracy to avoid missing property or records.
He added that getting the accounting and payroll systems are also a major focus and will likely be completed by the end of the year.
