DUBOIS – Stigma, pressure, or discrimination against mental illness, whether it be subtle or obvious can lead to harm. To prevent further damage, professionals are trying to fight back against mental health stigma.
Mental health currently sits in a struggling area filled with stigma, misconceptions, hate, and prejudice.
To move forward, Dr. Rojelle Williams believes that you must work through everything in a safe environment to say that it is ok to not be ok.
“I would like for us to be very supportive and inclusive,“ explained Dr. Williams. “Have an environment that fosters inclusivity.”
While this is easier said than done, trained professionals will always be there for you when needed.
