DUBOIS – A veteran oriented food pantry came out to DuBois Wednesday to help feed those in need.
Hosted by the Second Harvest Food Bank, the pantry strives to support local veterans and military members and their families who are in need of food.
Those with Second Harvest have been concerned with the low community support, however according to Feeding Coordinator, Alexa Hannole, the number of participants jumped from 22 to 42 local veterans in Wednesday’s event.
“It feels really good knowing that we reach more people in the community,“ explained Hannole. “And knowing that there are still more people in need that we were able to reach and get that number up hopefully in the next couple months.”
While the future of Second Harvest coming back is uncertain, Hannole said all information about a future event will be given out to all who need it.
