DuBois, PA – First Class Children’s Foundation, with help from generous donations from our community, was able to give 100 pairs of Nike shoes and 50 boxes of DuBois Beavers school spirit apparel to lucky kids at the DuBois Area Middle School!
First Class Children’s Foundation has mostly given away Imagination Boxes with school supplies to elementary kids, but founder Matt Reed says he was excited to give something away to older students, especially since he’s a fan of Nike himself.
Matt even wore his own Air Force 1 Nike sneakers to the event. He says he wanted them so badly growing up that he spent his first paycheck on them when he got a job. Matt says shoes (or anything that a child is proud of) can give them a sense of confidence that can help them tackle any problems they might be facing.
The additional Blackout Boxes are stuffed with school spirit apparel, including a beanie, hoodie, and two DAMS shirts.
The shoes and Blackout Boxes will be distributed to lucky students, and some will be kept in the DuBois Area Middle School Clothing Closet.
In addition to the shoes for the students, Matt wanted to do something special for the staff who helped him organize this project. He gifted three pairs of exclusive custom-made pairs of Nike Air Force 1’s to Wendy Benton, Kristie Taylor, and Nicole Hill. These women have helped us, and inspired us to create at a very high level for our KICKS program.
These custom shoes are a colorway that is not available to the general public. Their initials are stitched into the back of the shoes. Each shoe is placed in a custom embroidered KICKS bag and packaged in a custom shoe box with a custom KICKS tag. Every aspect of this gift is made with the highest level of detail.
A special thanks to everyone who donated. For people who donated specifically to the Nike shoe project, the names of donors are written in a card tucked inside of the shoebox.
Thanks to Matt and the rest of the team at First Class Children’s Foundation for giving our kids some fresh kicks!
