Clearfield County, PA – A New York man was killed in a crash on Interstate 80 over the weekend, and two women in the same vehicle were injured.
It happened around 9:30 Sunday night near mile marker 119.7 on eastbound I-80 in Lawrence Township, Clearfield County.
28-year-old Dila Rrukaj from the Bronx lost control of her GMC Envoy, went off the roadway, and overturned the vehicle multiple times.
The driver and one passenger, 64-year-old Hane Tinaj from Bronx, were using their seat belts.
Another passenger, 25-year-old Gjon Rrukaj from Bronx, was not wearing his seat belt.
He was ejected from the vehicle during the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Tinaj suffered serious injuries and was taken to Penn Highlands Clearfield. Dila Rrukaj was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
One lane of Interstate 80 eastbound in the area was closed for several hours while the crash was responded to, investigated, and cleaned up.
The investigation is ongoing, and charges are pending.
