Falls Creek woman flown to hospital after crashing into tree

Washington Township, PA – A Falls Creek woman was flown to the hospital with serious injuries after running off the road and striking a tree.

29-year-old Kelcey Stamler had been driving her Chevy Cruze along Copenhaver Road, near Smithtown Road just outside of Falls Creek, around 7:45 last Friday night, Sept. 11.

She left the road for unknown reasons, and the car ended up in a wooded area, first striking a ditch and then a tree.

Stamler was flown to UPMC Altoona with major injuries.

Her passenger, a 9-year-old boy, only had minor injuries and was able to be treated at Penn Highlands DuBois.

Stamler had not been wearing her seat belt, but the young boy had been wearing one.
