WEST MAHONING – Police are investigating a Facebook dog scam that stole $500 dollars from a Northpoint woman.
According to police, the 69 year-old victim had tried to purchase a puppy she saw on Facebook. After sending $500 dollars through a Chime mobile banking app, at which point the group stopped all contact and the victim did not receive the promised puppy.
Police continue to investigate.
