UNDATED – Pennsylvania Senators are looking to exclude junk foods from Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits.

Senators Michele Brooks and Doug Mastriano intend to introduce legislation to place this restriction as data shows nearly ten percent of these benefits are “spent on sugary drinks each year, with another $600 million spent on candy and prepared desserts.”

Similar restrictions are approved in twelve states.
