Escaped inmate, main topic of Clearfield County Prison Board

CLEARFIELD – A recent escape from the county jail and the follow-up actions it prompted were the primary topics of discussion at this week’s Clearfield County Prison Board meeting.

On May 30th, inmate Craig Hauke-Miller was able to break free from a recreational yard, but he was located and successfully recaptured at a Clearfield motel just seven and-a-half hours later.

Over the past three weeks, Clearfield County Jail Warden David Gallagher says that jail staff have identified vulnerabilities at the facility and are taking measures to make it more difficult for inmates to exploit them.

Gallagher also noted that the jail is no longer on lockdown, but it’s been operating with “modified movement.”
