DuBois, PA – A building on West Long Avenue in DuBois is being demolished today because it’s structurally unsound.

The building is the former New Life store at 42 West Long Avenue, DuBois.

The City of DuBois will begin the demolition process today (Thursday, July 8) and will continue until the work is completed.

Be aware that this may affect traffic, depending on if the road needs to be blocked off. Avoid the area if possible.

City officials determined that the building would not be able to be saved once they saw the extent of the damage.

In addition to many problems inside the abandoned building, the sidewalk in front of the building is now crumbling, revealing a large hole to the basement. It has essentially caused a sinkhole.

The sidewalk is blocked off with caution tape. Please do not walk in that area.
