ELK COUNTY – The Elk County Sheriff’s Department is warning you about scam attempts in the area.
According to the Sheriff’s office, the scammer will call you claiming to be a Sheriff’s Deputy and say there is a warrant out for your arrest.
The caller would then say the only way to resolve the issue is through a monetary payment.
The Elk County Sheriff’s Department says that they would never call about a warrant and to be vigilant about any scam attempt.
