CLEARFIELD – Elk County Catholic High School has won the regional “Fan Favorite” award in PennDOT’s Paint the Plow safety outreach contest in District 2. Jeff Tech won honorable mention in District 10’s “Fan Favorite voting.

PennDOT announced the awards Monday at the start of its Winter Driving Awareness Week. Paint the Plow is a statewide outreach aimed at promoting winter driving safety while fostering an appreciation for high school art programs and student creativity.

The Elk County Catholic High School plow depicts their mascot buckled up with winter, spring, summer and fall imagery to convey this year’s theme of “Seat belts are always in season.”

During the rest of this winter, the painted blades will be used to maintain state-owned roadways.
