Duo Charged After Alleged Child Abuse

CLEARFIELD – Two individuals are facing multiple charges after allegedly abusing a 15 month-old child multiple times. 

A report was made on October 2nd of suspected child abuse in Clearfield. 

After investigation police say that between September 22nd and 25th, the child was allegedly abused in four incidents causing a fractured Tibia and bruising to the head.

Police questioned 22 year-old Nicholas Cowder and 18 year-old Ashlee Daniels, who had the child at the times of the alleged abuse, who were reportedly deceptive towards authorities and health care officials. 

It was determined that the child was placed in a “timeout” chair where they fell and suffered their injuries.

They are now facing several charges including  aggravated assault, child endangerment, and many more.
