Lawrence Township, PA – A Cambria County woman was arrested for allegedly rear-ending another vehicle while driving under the influence with her daughter and dog in the car.

It happened on Wednesday afternoon when 31-year-old Courtney Smith from Fallen Timber, PA, rear-ended another vehicle with two occupants on Krebs Highway in Lawrence Township, near Clearfield.

The vehicle in front had slowed down to about 30 mph, but Smith did not slow down and struck the other vehicle from behind.

Smith was reportedly found to be under the influence of a controlled substance and was taken to Penn Highlands for a legal blood draw.

The child in the vehicle, her 3-year-old daughter, was released to her father.

The dog was housed in the SPCA.

If positive lab results are received, charges are being filed for DUI, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, endangering the welfare of children, reckless endangerment of another person, and numerous traffic offenses.
