In DuBois, a shocking tale unfolded as Betty Jo Cyphert faced
charges for using a stun gun on her own children. Allegations
surfaced when authorities were summoned to her home on April
9th. According to reports, Cyphert’s three kids, ages 11 and 6,
claimed she used a camo taser on them as punishment. The
eldest child recounted chilling details: nights spent on a cold
bedroom floor, and being tased while doing dishes. Disturbingly,
one of the younger children witnessed their sibling being
stunned. Cyphert later explained to police that she and her
husband demonstrated the stun gun’s effect once, but denied
repeated use. Despite regretting the incident, Cyphert now
faces charges of child and reckless endangerment. Released on
bail, the community grapples with the disturbing allegations
against a parent entrusted with care.
