A 36-year-old DuBois woman will go to trial in Clearfield County Court on charges of allegedly assaulting and strangling a 14-year-old girl.
According to court documents, Melissa Hawk has been charged with strangulation, endangering the welfare of children, simple assault and harassment.
Hawk allegedly struck the girl on the head, face and hands with a spatula and then choked her for being late for school.
The victim is claiming that Hawk has abused her for over a year.
Hawk waived her right to a preliminary hearing Friday.
She is free on $15,000 bail.
