DuBois Woman Accused of Fleeing from Police

DUBOIS – A DuBois woman is facing several charges after allegedly fleeing from police during a traffic stop.

On February 28th, police pulled over 36 year-old Melinda Burnside for active warrants along West Long Avenue in DuBois.

During the traffic stop, Burnside allegedly had expired insurance, no drivers license, and lied about her identity.

While the officer was investigating, all passengers got out of the vehicle before it allegedly took off.

Officers did not pursue the vehicle and confirmed that Burnside had three active felony warrants.

She has now been charged with felony flight to avoid apprehension/trial/punishment and reckless driving.
