DUBOIS – Parents and guardians, you are urged to speak with your children regarding a recent social media trend, “National Swatting Schools Day”.
According to the FBI, this trend shows false reports being made to emergency services with the intent of drawing a large law enforcement presence to school grounds.
The DuBois Area School District’s Superintendent’s Office say these false reports lead to unnecessary lockdowns and emergency responses distilling fear and anxiety in students, teachers, staff, and those at home.
To help combat this trend, parents and guardians are urged to have a serious talk with your school aged children to discuss the pressing issue.
The DuBois Area School District believes that school safety is a shared responsibility of the community.
