DuBois Mayor Blames Past Administration for Massive Pension Costs

DUBOIS – The 2025 City of DuBois’ Budget is setting aside close to a million dollars to pay off pension plans.

This extremely high number, according to DuBois Mayor Patrick Reasinger, is due to the plan selected by previous administration which pays out more annually than normal.

“They’re putting less money in and taking more money out,“ explained Mayor Reasinger. “They also took it from 50 percent of your pay to 90 percent of your pay. We’re going to be paying some of our employees that have been here a long time, 70 to 80 percent of their pay when they retire.”

The Mayor told us this was not a sudden change but a growing problem over a decade in the making.
