DuBois Man Wanted for Assault, Theft at Burger King

DUBOIS – A DuBois man wanted for allegedly attacking a Burger King employee in Sandy Township early Tuesday morning is still on the loose. According to Sandy Township Police, 59-year-old Richard Smeal attacked the victim in the restaurant’s parking lot and demanded she give him the night deposit money. When she refused, Smeal reportedly hit the victim in the head with his closed fists and an air-soft gun, causing injuries. Smeal ran to a nearby getaway car when another vehicle pulled into the parking lot.

Police identied Smeal’s accomplice, and driver of the getaway car, as 53-year-old John Lentz Jr., a former Burger King employee. Lentz was arrested a few hours later at his Penfield home. He is currently being held in the Clearfield County Jail on charges of robbery, theft, and fleeing from police. Bail for Lentz is set at $150,000

Smeal is described by police as a Caucasian male, 5-feet 5-inches tall, and weighing approximately 145 pounds. He has blue eyes, a red/gray beard and thinning red/brown hair.
