
Huston Township, PA – A DuBois man is left with serious injuries after a crash near Penfield, potentially due to being under the influence of controlled substances.
28-year-old Brandon Perine had been driving his Acura RSX on Mountain Run Road in Huston Township around 12:43 a.m. early last Thursday morning, Aug. 12.
He lost control, went off the roadway, and struck a tree.
Perine suffered internal injuries and was flown to UPMC Altoona.
Although the injuries were serious, they were fortunately not life-threatening. He had been wearing a seat belt.
He was suspected of being under the influence, and a preliminary urine test showed signs of methamphetamines, opiates, and marijuana. Charges are still pending the official results.
